Racha Pharaon, a design consultant at La-Z-Boy Kanata, says that the Norris design is “unique and compliments any room.”

Known as a staple at La-Z-Boy, this plushy family displays a clean, streamlined shape, as well as sleek padded arms and a chaise seat. Though the Norris cushions may appear flatter than other cushions, it still offers the same amount–if not more–comfort as bulkier furniture.

The Norris comes in many variations, including a recliner, a loveseat, and a sofa.

Norris Furniture Family (Available Frame Options)

As mentioned above, the Norris Family is offered in various shapes and sizes, including a recliner, a loveseat, and a sofa. All pieces are offered in a contemporary style, both for individual and shared enjoyment.

Norris Recliner

The Norris Recliner is the peek of individualized comfort. Offered as a Wall or a Rocking Recliner, both designs are perfect for relaxing in style. 

The Norris Rocking Recliner has a convenient handle on the outside that allows you to recline with ease. When you are not lounging, it acts as a relaxing rocker, rocking you in a smooth and graceful motion. 

The Norris Wall Recliner also has a handle on the outside, giving you the power to move the ultra-plush seat and back. They can either move together or independently for a wide range of reclining positions. Better yet, the Wall Recliner can be placed inches away from any wall, giving it the ability to fit in any room you wish.

Both Norris Wall and Rocking recliners are available in either manual or power. So instead of using a handle, you can effortlessly recline with just the push of a button. You can also upgrade your power recliners for extra headrest & lumbar support.

Norris Loveseat

The Norris Loveseat is the perfect kind of comfort that you can sink into with that special someone. Perfect for long or short sittings, the padded arms and seats envelop you in luxurious comfort. Simply use the latches on either side to recline with ease.

Like the recliners, the Norris Loveseat can be upgraded to a power option. And, for extra comfortability, a headrest can be added, along with a console to hold drinks and extra storage. 

Norris Sofa

Last but not least, the Norris Sofa is the perfect piece for “any family,” according to interior designer Racha. With three equally comfortable cushions, the Norris Sofa is available in either manual or power. You can also upgrade your power sofa with a headrest, like the loveseat or recliners.

Unique Features

As mentioned before, the Norris has sleek and padded cushions that fit well in any room. Designed with clean and elegant lines, Racha says that the Norris offers the traditional comfort that you would look for at La-Z-Boy. 

Racha also explains that the Norris “has great support, from the back to the head.” In fact, she says the Norris furniture has “more head support than some other La-Z-Boy furniture.” This does not include the added lumbar and head support that the upgrade would accentuate. 

The Norris Family also has flatter cushions than other cushions you would expect from different designs. However, do not let this deceive you. These cushions offer the same amount of comfortability and support as other cushions. In fact, the cushions are made of high-grade foam with double-picked blown fiberfill for improved loft and shape retention.

Sizes & Dimensions

The Norris Family is considered bigger than the typical furniture you would find. More specifically, its wide arms and bucket seats require more space than other frames. 

Though Norris Furniture may not thrive in a smaller area, open concept rooms would be ideal for this kind of furniture because it is considered contemporary.

Options & Upgrades

At La-Z-Boy, all upholstery furniture is customizable. Make the Norris Furniture your own by choosing from a range of options and upgrades. 

It is important to note, that by selection options and upgrades, the cost of the Norris Furniture is subject to increase.

Leather Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 different fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless. 

The Norris Family is not offered fabric, despite Norris' webpage displaying fabric options. There are, however, two select leather options that complement the furniture’s unique look and frame. Further, the select leather options offer the best value at starting prices. Should you choose other leather colours, you will be subjected to additional fees. 

Racha mentions that Norris' leather design comes with “unique stitching,” something that other furniture options do not offer. The stitching covers both the back and the arms of the furniture and will be different depending on the colour you choose. 

Be aware of pricing, however! Though the leather design is enticing, it does add a couple hundred more to your bill. 

Racha says that leather designs can range from $400-800 in addition to the base price. Racha also adds that the leather is merely for design purposes. “It may not be for everyone, so it is up to your personal preference.”

Stain Resistant

Pet Friendly

Tested and formulated to withstand the scratches and wear that a pet can cause to ensure a durable and easily washable fabric.

Superior stain and fade resistance properties make fabrics easy to clean and incredibly durable.

Cushions

To enhance the comfort of your Norris furniture, consider upgrading the cushions to firmer cushioning, meaning over time, your furniture will remember your unique figure.

Please note that reclining furniture purchased prior to January 2021 had the option to upgrade to airform cushions.  This cushion includes a two-inch layer of premium quality memory foam added on top of the standard foam base within the seat, chaise and leg rest of the unit.

Power Upgrade

The Recliner, Loveseat, and Sofa from the Norris Family are available in power options. Instead of using a handle to recline manually, you can choose to recline automatically with the push of a button. 

With the Power Wall and Rocking Recliners, a four-button control panel is used to recline for a wide range of positions. 

The Loveseat and Sofa come with a two-button control panel to recline the seats and raise the legrest.

There is also a built-in USB port to charge your devices on all pieces of the power Norris Furniture. 

Adjustable Headrest & Lumbar Support

The power recliner, loveseat, and sofa in the Norris Family can be further upgraded to include adjustable headrest support. With this, you can adjust the headrest to match your unique comfort preferences. 

Instead of a two-button panel for the sofa and loveseat, a four-button control panel is used to control the headrest of the furniture. 

Adjustable lumbar support is also offered in the Norris Power Wall and Rocking Recliners only. In this case, the lumbar support can expand or deflate to perfectly match the unique curvature of your lumbar spine. 

A handy wand controller is used to operate the features of the recliner, which controls the independent back and footrest, power tilt, power headrest and power lumbar support.

Console (Loveseat)

A console is included if you choose to upgrade the Norris Loveseat. The handy center console holds extra storage between the seats underneath the very convenient two cup holders. 

This upgrade is a wise choice for anyone who enjoys binging shows or just sitting without having to get up for a drink.

Comfort doesn’t always come cheap. According to Racha, the Norris Furniture Family falls within the medium-high range in terms of price at La-Z-Boy.

The products in the Norris Furniture Family are covered by a limited lifetime warranty at La-Z-Boy to ensure the protection and satisfaction of your investment. 

The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and the mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Norris Furniture Family Right For You?

Now that you’ve heard everything you need to know about the Norris Furniture Family, is it the right piece of furniture for you?
