On that note, La-Z-Boy has many different recliners to choose from. If you’re looking for a welcoming and comfortable modern recliner for your living room, the Arthur Recliner might be your next furniture piece. 

Racha Pharaon, a design consultant at La-Z-Boy Kanata, says that this recliner is new to the La-Z-Boy furniture family. “Even though it is new,” she says, “it is getting a lot of attention!”

There are many different unique features that make Arthur stand out from other La-Z-Boy recliners.

The Arthur Recliner offers classic recliner features with an updated contemporary look. 

With its slimmed silhouette and flared arms, the Arthur has trimmed padding to refine the overall scale. The Arthur also optimizes comfort with its stylish appearance. Further, Arthur has a multichambered back for optimum support.

Simply use the handle on the outside arm to raise the legrest for reclining.

Sizes & Dimensions

When considering the size of the Arthur Recliner, you want to ensure that it will comfortably fit in your space. Prior to analyzing Arthur’s dimensions, it is crucial to measure your room.

When it comes to the size of the Arthur, Racha mentions that it is a “medium-sized recliner,” meaning that it is perfect for most average-sized living rooms. Racha even mentions that it can be placed in an apartment! 

As for who might sit more comfortably in this recliner, the Arthur has a taller back, which means it is generally most suitable for individuals who are between the heights of 5’10” and 6’2”. Racha says that those who are shorter may not be able to appreciate the comfort of the headrest.

While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

Options & Upgrades

All upholstery furniture at La-Z-Boy is customizable. Give the Arthur recliner your own personal touch by choosing from a range of options and upgrades.

It is important to remember that by selecting any options and upgrades in this section, the cost of the Arthur product is subject to increase.

Recliner Frame/Functionality

Firstly, the Arthur Recliner is offered in three different options. You can choose between the Rocking Recliner, the Wall Recliner, or the Glider Recliner. 

With the Arthur Rocking Recliner, you can relax by rocking your recliner in a smooth and graceful motion when not in a reclining position. 

With the Arthur Wall Recliner, you can place your recliner mere inches from a wall with still being able to recline comfortably.

Finally, with the Arthur Gliding Recliner, you can also move in a smooth and graceful motion, but with the added ability to swivel and glide in different directions.

Fabric & Leather Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

The Arthur recliner has 4 select fabric covers to choose from. Racha says you can choose between earth, ash, platinum, or sand fabric cover. Further, Racha says that Arthur’s 2 select leather covers come in either grey or brown.

These select fabrics do not have an additional fee to the starting price. Should you choose to purchase any fabrics or leathers that are not included in Arthur’s select fabric selection, you will be subjected to an additional fee. 

Leather options, beyond the select leather selection, will always increase the overall cost. Ultimately, the choice of choosing fabric or leather is up to you, if you’re willing to spend extra cash on leather products.

At an additional cost, Arthur’s cushions can also be upgraded to include firmer cushioning, meaning over time your furniture will remember your unique figure and enhance the comfort of your furniture. This could be a great option for people with mobility issues, allowing you to get in and out of your furniture more comfortably.

Optional Swivel Base

If you're interested, the Arthur rocking recliner is available with a swivel base for an extra cost. La-Z-Boy's swivel bases provide a 360-degree rotation, allowing you to easily turn and face any direction.

You can also upgrade your swivel base into a power swivel recliner, which can swivel at the touch of a button. The power swivel base, however, only rotates 165 degrees to prevent the power cord from getting tangled within the furniture frame.

Handle Options

To add more style to your La-Z-Boy manual recliner, you have the option to customize the length and material of the convenient reclining handle.

At an extra cost, you can opt to elongate the handle if you find it too short for your comfort. Additionally, you can choose from a variety of materials for the handle, including wooden, brushed nickel, or matte black. The chrome handle can also be elongated, matching the wooden one in size.

What’s more, for all left-handed users, you can change your handle from the standard right side to the left. This also comes at an additional cost.

Power Upgrade with Adjustable Headrest

You can upgrade the Arthur to power. 

Unlike manual furniture that uses a handle or latch, power recliners come with a control panel or a wireless remote for easy reclining at the touch of a button. You can also adjust the headrest support with this convenient feature.

The adjustable headrest allows you to move the head of the recliner from 0-55 degrees, giving you more range of motion with your reclining positions.

What’s more, the recliners have USB ports next to the control panels to charge your electronic devices and two memory settings that allow you to save any of your favourite relaxing positions. This way, you can easily recline back to the position you favour quickly and accurately. 

All power upgrades can be cordless, thanks to our rechargeable battery pack. With this, you can place your power recliners anywhere without worrying about plugging them into an electrical outlet.

Adjustable Lumbar Support

The Arthur can also be upgraded to include adjustable lumbar support for an additional cost when choosing the power option.

Like the headrest feature, you can control the lower lumbar area of your recliner with the wireless remote. In this case, the lumbar support can expand 3 inches out or deflate to perfectly match the unique curvature of your lumbar spine.

While the cost of the Arthur is quite standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered expensive in the market. Warranty

The Arthur is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Arthur Recliner Right For You?

Now that you know everything you need to know about the Arthur recliner, is it the right furniture for you? When making this decision, you will want to consider Arthur's cost, functionality, and style.

As mentioned before, referring to the cost, the price of the Arthur recliner is in the low price range. This means that this recliner is more affordable than our other La-Z-Boy recliners. With this, the Arthur is a good option for La-Z-Boy clients who are on a budget.  

However, La-Z-Boy items are more expensive compared to the general market. If you’re looking for long-lasting furniture, the Arthur, as with any La-Z-Boy furniture item is worth the investment, due to the quality of materials used to make our furniture.

As for functionality, the size of the furniture is perfect for most average-sized rooms. Racha does mention, however, that the arms of the Arthur can be “a little bit high, which can be a little bit uncomfortable for shorter individuals.” 

This is why this recliner is more suitable for taller individuals. Racha also says that the arms of the Arthur recliner are slightly bigger than other frames. “They might look small, but they do take up a lot of room.”

Finally, as for practicality, Racha says that some users of the Arthur Rocking Recliner might hear the rocking mechanism and can get bothered by the sound. “If a rocking recliner has too loud of a sound, the best replacement is a gliding recliner, which the Arthur has.”
