This year’s home is the Beaumont, located at 389 Vibert Douglas Drive in Brookline, Kanata. It marks 26 years of partnership between Minto and CHEO working together.
La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston furnished the home, continuing a tradition that dates back to the very first Dream Home.
The grand prize is worth a good deal more than the house. The Beaumont alone is valued at $3,385,000, with a 2027 Mercedes GLC 300 in the driveway.
Add $100,000 in cash, plus $5,000 gift cards at both Farm Boy and W.O. Stinson. Then a year of bi-weekly cleaning, moving services, legal work, and 25 years of car washes.

The 2026 Minto Dream Home is the Beaumont, a 5,340-square-foot home in Brookline, Kanata and the grand prize in this year's CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery.
From the street, it has the look of a classic Ottawa red brick home. Step inside, however, and the design takes a distinctly more contemporary direction, inspired by Parisian elegance.
Set on a corner lot backed by green space, the home spans three levels and includes several standout spaces. A solarium with five skylights, a wellness centre and a wine tasting cellar are all part of the design, along with a spacious primary retreat and an in-home elevator.
The Brookline community is tucked off March Road near the Kanata Tech Park. The neighbourhood was designed with nature in mind, with a seven-acre woodlot and two nearby parks.
Minto describes the Beaumont as its most accessible Dream Home to date, and the design supports that claim. The accessibility features are built into the home rather than added as an afterthought. An in-home elevator connects all three levels. Hallways and doorways are wider, and the rear deck sits flush with the floor inside, eliminating the step out to the yard.
Look at those features alongside the room list and another theme emerges: wellbeing. The home includes a dedicated wellness centre and a solarium, while outside, pathways and a seven-acre woodlot encourage time outdoors. The elevator helps ensure every level remains accessible.
That focus matters. For many people, accessibility is an important part of staying comfortable in a home they already love.
Furniture is another part of creating a home that remains comfortable over time. The La-Z-Boy pieces throughout the Beaumont were selected based on how each space would be used, with attention to comfort, scale, and placement. Those same considerations become increasingly important when planning a home for the long term, because the right furniture can help keep rooms comfortable, functional and easier to navigate.
Tanner Vine designed the interiors in partnership with Minto's Product Development Team. This is his third Dream Home, after the 2024 Oasis and the 2025 Sterling. He has been designing for ten years.
The inspiration for this year’s home was a classic, timeless Parisian apartment interpreted through a modern lens. Traditional architectural details are paired with contemporary furniture, modern cabinetry and lighting to create a look that feels both elegant and current.
That contrast is evident the moment you walk through the front door. Outside, the home has the character of classic red brick. Inside, the staircase introduces a more contemporary feel with curved corners and a railing that appears to float.
The dining room carries the same idea forward. A herringbone floor adds a distinctly Parisian influence, while the Canadel dining table brings in a darker, more modern contrast. Tanner chose a deep espresso stain from about a dozen options, a finish that helps highlight the table’s shape and detail.
Above it, the fixture hangs deliberately low. In an open-concept space, that helps define the dining area and give the table a sense of place within the larger room.
The living room is designed to start conversations. Tanner positioned two Noah sofas facing each other rather than facing the television, creating a layout that naturally encourages people to gather.
That same attention to how a room is used continues downstairs in the wine tasting cellar. Chilled glass cabinets hold the collection, while a lounge area gives you a reason to stay, settle in and enjoy the bottle right there.
The Minto Dream Home has helped raise millions of dollars for the CHEO Foundation, supporting the care and services families across the region rely on.
The partnership traces back to Robert Greenberg, then Minto's Executive Vice President, who envisioned a project that could support the local children's hospital and the wider community.
For families across Ottawa, Gatineau and communities throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, CHEO is a familiar name. Families travel to the hospital on Smyth Road for specialized care when their children need it most.
For 26 years, the Dream of a Lifetime Lottery has brought organizations and the community together in support of CHEO. Minto builds the Dream Home, La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston helps furnish it, and proceeds from the lottery support the CHEO Foundation and its work.
La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston has furnished every Minto Dream Home since the project began. Canadian-owned and operated since 1998, the business now employs over 100 local staff.
Planning begins earlier than most people expect, with work on the next Dream Home starting as soon as the current one opens to the public.
Throughout the Beaumont, La-Z-Boy supplied the pieces designed for sitting back and getting comfortable. That includes two Noah sofas, the Paxton sectional, two Maeve swivel gliders, the Wynne recliner in the nursery, the Opal swivel chair in the solarium and the Aura chair downstairs.
The rest of the home brings together several brands available through our showrooms. Hammary, a La-Z-Boy company, supplied the accent tables and the console in the office. American Drew and Kincaid supplied the case goods and the headboards, while Canadel built the dining table, desk and many of the occasional tables, which were made in custom sizes. Surya, Global Views, Mercana and Renwil contributed rugs, mirrors, lighting and accent pieces.

The Beaumont is open to the public at 389 Vibert Douglas Drive in Kanata. Tours begin Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with visiting hours Tuesday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can buy tickets on-site at one of the kiosks or with help from a CHEO Foundation staff member.

Tickets are $100 each or three for $250, with additional packages available that include 50/50 tickets. Purchasers must be at least 18 years old and physically located in Ontario when ordering.
The 2026 Grand Prize includes the Minto Dream Home fully furnished by La-Z-Boy, $100,000 cash, a 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC SUV, plus additional prizes including gas, groceries, house cleaning, moving and legal services. The total approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $3,647,903.44. In total, there are 9,090 prizes to be awarded throughout this year’s Dream of a Lifetime Lottery.
The final deadline to purchase tickets for the Grand Prize and 50/50 draw is Friday, December 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The Grand Prize draw takes place Wednesday, January 6, 2027.
