When you order furniture, the most anticipated moment is its arrival at your home. However, the furniture delivery process involves much more than just dropping off a new sofa or recliner at your doorstep. From quality inspections to final delivery and setup, La-Z-Boy’s furniture delivery team in Ottawa, Gatineau and Kingston ensures a seamless and stress-free experience.
But what exactly happens behind the scenes? What steps are taken to prepare your furniture for delivery, and what should you expect on delivery day? In this article, we’ll break down everything you need to know about La-Z-Boy’s furniture delivery services.

La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau & Kingston operates four locations, but only the Cyrville store houses a warehouse where all furniture orders are inspected and prepped before delivery. Regardless of which location you purchase from, your furniture will first arrive at Cyrville for inspection before being sent to your home.
Unlike other furniture stores in Ottawa, which often deliver furniture still in its box, La-Z-Boy unpacks, tests, and assembles each item to ensure it meets our high-quality standards.
The testing process includes:
This thorough inspection happens twice—once when the furniture first arrives at the warehouse and again two days before delivery. By doing this, we significantly reduce the chances of a damaged or defective product being delivered to your home.
Even with careful inspections, issues can sometimes arise before or after delivery. If a problem is found before your furniture leaves the warehouse, our team will assess whether it can be fixed in-house or needs to be replaced.
If the item is a standard furniture model, meaning we have extra stock in our warehouse, we can swap it out with an identical frame before delivery. This way, the customer never even notices that a replacement was made.
However, if the item is a custom order, we cannot simply replace it with another one from our stock. Custom furniture is unique and must be sent back to the manufacturer for repairs, which can result in longer wait times.

If an issue is discovered after delivery, our service department steps in to resolve it. In some cases, a service technician will be sent to your home to inspect the furniture. These technicians can often fix minor problems on-site, such as adjusting a recliner handle or tightening a loose mechanism.
For more severe issues, repairs may need to be done in our warehouse. Thanks to La-Z-Boy’s modular furniture design, most parts can be disassembled and repaired separately, making it easier to fix problems without compromising the entire piece.
La-Z-Boy also offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty, covering core components like frames and reclining mechanisms. If your furniture is protected under this warranty and cannot be repaired, we may replace it entirely.
To provide even more peace of mind, La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston offers an Extended 5-Year Protection Plan, which covers accidental damage, stains, and other potential issues that may arise over time.
On the day of your delivery, our team follows a well-organized process to ensure a smooth experience. Each La-Z-Boy truck can carry up to 40 pieces of furniture, and our delivery team completes an average of 20 stops per day across Eastern Ontario and Gatineau.
Before heading out, our delivery team double-checks each order to make sure everything is correct and in working condition. You’ll receive a real-time tracking link, allowing you to monitor your delivery in progress and see exactly when the truck will arrive.
When the delivery team arrives at your home, the process begins with a walkthrough. One team member will assess the best path for moving the furniture inside, ensuring doorways and hallways are wide enough and free from obstacles. Meanwhile, the second team member will start preparing your furniture for unloading.
During the walkthrough, the team may ask you to move certain items to create a clearer path. If necessary, they may also offer guidance on how to rearrange furniture or décor to prevent any damage during the move.
Once everything is ready, the team will bring your furniture inside and set it up in your preferred location. They will also test all reclining mechanisms and power features before leaving to ensure everything is working properly.
While we take every precaution to ensure a smooth delivery, accidents can happen. If your furniture is damaged during transport or setup, the delivery team will report the issue immediately.
Our service department will then contact you within 48 to 72 hours to discuss the next steps, whether that means sending a technician, offering a repair, or replacing the item if necessary.
To help speed up the process, it’s important to locate the ACK Number on your furniture. This number is a unique identifier for your specific item and helps our team quickly access order details and warranty information.

In addition to delivering new furniture, La-Z-Boy also offers a one-for-one moving service, allowing customers to dispose of old furniture when receiving a new piece.
