Aubé, after 18 months of conceptualizing the idea, introduced his plan to deliver his furniture in multiple boxes, being able to fit through any door you try to put it in. But how can one piece of furniture be in more than one delivery box, you may ask?
Well, like IKEA furniture, Cozey is paired with a tool-free assembly, with easy step-by-step instructions to properly assemble your furniture without error. The difference between this and IKEA, however, is the fact that Cozey is designed with quality materials and ready to ship at still affordable prices.
Along with Cozey’s delivery services, they also offer a 30-day risk-free trial to see if you enjoy your furniture. If you decide to return your furniture for whatever reason, Cozey does what it can to keep it from turning into furniture waste, thanks to its refurbishing services and donations to foundations in need.
This means they also pride themselves on being a sustainable furniture brand like La-Z-Boy.
La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston
La-Z-Boy is an American company established in Michigan, United States, over 90 years ago.
Although the company has American roots, the Ottawa and Kingston locations have been locally owned and operated by the Maxwell family since 2011.
La-Z-Boy prides itself on its furniture quality, style, and comfortability, which is why one of its popular phrases is "style meets comfort."
La-Z-Boy’s primary specialty is living room furniture, but it also offers furniture for other rooms in the home, including the dining room and bedroom. Additionally, La-Z-Boy also provides a wide variety of home accessories and decor.
Regarding an online platform, La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston has a website called stylemeetscomfort.ca. As previously mentioned, the website is a great resource for browsing the product selection, learning about furniture, and staying up-to-date with current sales.
With that being said, the Style Meets Comfort website is not an e-commerce platform, meaning you cannot purchase products through the website. Rather it’s a resource to see what is in stock and available. You must visit one of four Ottawa or Kingston showrooms to purchase.

Both Cozey and La-Z-Boy have a wide selection of furniture to choose from, all for different rooms of the house.

Cozey Living Room Furniture Selection
Within their living room selection, Cozey offers a variety of quality furniture that is categorized into four different collections: Ciello, Atmosphere, Original and Mistral. Each furniture category offers a different furniture style that you can customize fully using Cozey’s interactive online tools.
Firstly, the Ciello collection incorporates deep and plush seating into your furniture selection, allowing you to sink into your furniture no matter how you customize it.
Atmosphere is a newer collection that includes fully swappable covers in vibrant colours, giving you the opportunity to completely change the colour of the sofa anytime!
The Original collection, named after the original concept of the Cozey furniture idea, is made with compact, colourful and highly configurable designs that’ll easily fit any space you put it in.
And lastly, Mistral is the outdoor furniture collection that allows you to take your Cozey obsession outside the four walls of your home. These furniture frames include a robust aluminum frame and water-resistant fabric that can withstand outdoor environments.
Along with their four furniture collections, Cozey also offers other furniture pieces, such as occasional tables, and decor accessories.
La-Z-Boy Living Room Furniture Selection
La-Z-Boy offers comfortable, quality, and stylish home furniture and decor.
More specifically, La-Z-Boy offers a range of recliner chairs, accent chairs, sofas, sectionals, and loveseats.
La-Z-Boy furniture offers stationary, manual reclining, and power reclining.
Aside from upholstered living room furniture, La-Z-Boy’s furnishings include a range of occasional tables from their incorporated sub-divisions Hammary, American Drew, and Kincaid. This selection includes coffee tables, side tables, and entertainment units.

Like La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston, Cozey is a Canadian brand functioning in Canada, with its headquarters located in Montreal.
However, furniture is manufactured in China, where most furniture manufacturers are located. Furniture from those manufacturers is then shipped to distribution centres in Montreal and Vancouver, which are then delivered to people’s homes for assembly.
Cozey also has a sister company named Nook, which was founded in 2021 and offers furniture created by local Canadian artisans in Quebec. It has the same headquarters as Cozey in Montreal.
Where is La-Z-Boy Furniture Made?
First, it is important to highlight that La-Z-Boy manufactures all furniture sold at La-Z-Boy.
La-Z-Boy is a global manufacturer operating in North America, Asia, and Europe. La-Z-Boy’s products are primarily made in North America for North American markets, with their global headquarters in Monroe, Michigan.
Our recliners, chairs, sofas, and sectionals sold in Ottawa and Kingston are primarily manufactured in Dayton, Tennessee.

You can choose to add metal legs to sofas in the Original Collection to replace the default wooden legs, for a slight industrial touch to your home.
La-Z-Boy Customization Options
In contrast, upholstery furniture at La-Z-Boy is highly customizable.
With over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, there are many possibilities to make your furniture unique to fit your own personal style.

You can email photos and important measurements to the interior designer.
La-Z-Boy Interior Design Services
La-Z-Boy also offers complimentary interior design services with any purchase. La-Z Boy's interior designers will work with you one-on-one to provide personalized furniture and design recommendations.
In turn, they will create a complete room design based on your personal style and preferences. Moreover, you will receive a comprehensive room mood board and a 3D model of your room design before finalizing your order.

Warranty
Whether you shop at Cozey or La-Z-Boy, there is no doubt that living room furniture is an investment.
Both furniture retailers offer a warranty with the sale of their products to help protect the long-term value of your investment.
Cozey Warranty
Cozey offers a standard five-year warranty on all of its furniture pieces, ranging from sofas and other accessories. This warranty includes the parts and labour against manufacturing defects.
If you do have defective or damaged parts after delivery, Cozey will only require you to send back the parts in question and not the entire frame.
Should you not like your furniture, there is also a 30-day return policy in place for damaged or defective items.
La-Z-Boy Warranty
The quality of La-Z-Boy’s furniture is known to last as a long-term investment.
La-Z-Boy products come with a manufacturing warranty that covers damage caused by manufacturing errors or workmanship.
The mechanical and frame parts are covered for a lifetime, while others are covered for 1-3 years. This warranty is applicable across all upholstery categories consistently.

At an additional cost, La-Z Boy also offers an Extended Protection Plan that covers up to five years of accidental damage. Depending on the product, the cost of this warranty is relative.

Delivery
Cozey and La-Z-Boy have different delivery services at an additional cost. Contact the retailer to learn more details about specific delivery fees to your area.
Cozey Delivery
Because Cozey is a relatively newer furniture company, it does not offer an official delivery service. Instead, it offers delivery and shipping through third-party companies such as Fedex, Purolator and Canpar using ground shipping.
That being said, all of Cozey's delivery services come with a free delivery charge! This also includes returns within the first 30-days of delivery.
It is important to note that should you return your furniture within the aforementioned time frame it must be returned within a Cozey delivery box. If you do not have your Cozey delivery boxes, Cozey can provide more for you at an additional fee. The fee covers 15% of your original order.
La-Z-Boy Delivery
Similarly, La-Z-Boy offers a white glove delivery service that includes set up, assembly, rearranging furniture, and disposal of old furniture at an additional cost.
At La-Z-Boy, local Ottawa & Kingston delivery costs $129.99, and out-of-town delivery costs $169.99.
With La-Z-Boy delivery services, an existing piece of furniture can also be moved elsewhere in your home at no additional cost. Further, if you have taken advantage of the design services, the delivery men will set up your furniture based on your predetermined floor plan.
Additionally, we offer the option to dispose of any old furniture in a local landfill at an extra charge of $50 / per furniture seat.
