Coronado Chair & a Half

The Coronado Chair & a Half is a stylish-looking chair that offers spacious comfort ideal for both individual and shared comfort. 

A chair & a half is known to accommodate those with a small child or baby, making it a good furniture item for a nursery.

Coronado Sofa

The other furniture option in the Coronado furniture family is the Coronado Sofa, which offers family-friendly comfort. 

You’ll notice that the Coronado Sofa has two long seat cushions instead of three, offering a more inviting sitting arrangement than the traditional three seats.

Coronado Ottoman

Additionally, you can add the stylish Coronado Ottoman to your furniture collection. The Coronado Ottoman, like any La-Z-Boy Ottoman, can be versatile. 

You can choose to use it as an extra seat for your living room or use it to kick up your feet with your stationary furniture. 

Unique Features

Coronado offers stylish, beautiful, and sophisticated furniture pieces with a mix of versatility and comfort. 

Coronado features 18” accent pillows, loose seat back cushions, double-picked blown fibre fill for improved shape retention, and decorative wood legs.

Lisa tells us that this furniture family is streamlined and modern, which is due to its two-seater configuration. “Even though the sofa is a two-seater, it can still fit three or more people,” she says.

Lisa adds that the reason why it is a two-seater is that the aesthetic comes from “a different era of style.” This means that it pulls from both traditional and modern styles of furniture design, which explains why it is so transitional as a furniture item.

Sizes & Dimensions

Regarding size, the Coronado furniture is considered of average scale at La-Z-Boy.

Lisa mentions that even though the seat cushions for the sofa are only two seats, the Coronado Sofa is still “average-sized” and can be placed in almost any space. This is also true with the Coronado Chair & a Half, which is a standard-sized chair & a half, according to Lisa.

The best way to ensure that the Coronado can fit in your space is by Measuring Your Room.

Further, Lisa says that the cushions have more depth to them than other furniture families at La-Z-Boy. This means that the Coronado can comfortably sit those who are between the heights of 5’10” - 6’2”.

It is important to remember that with the selection of options and upgrades, the cost of the Coronado is subject to increase.

Power Options (Not Available)

Though the Coronado is considered a transitional furniture style at La-Z-Boy, it is actually one of the few furniture families that does not offer a power upgrade. This may be surprising to some because Power options are a popular choice when customers look to upgrade their furniture.

However, the reason why there is no power option is that the Coronado furniture is stationary, meaning there is no need for a power option.

Fabric & Leather Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

The Coronado has 5 select fabric covers to choose from. The select covers are specifically chosen to compliment the Coronado furniture frame. Lisa says you can choose between the colours gold rush, antique, charcoal, wicker, and khaki. 

Further, Lisa mentions says that Coronado’s select leather is limited to one colour, which is a grey colour. “Honestly, the Coronado in leather is stunning. It looks so different compared to the fabric and it looks good with any leather colour you go with–not just grey,” she says.

These select fabrics do not increase the starting price of the Coronado. Should you choose to purchase any fabrics or leathers that are not included in Coronado’s selection, you will be subjected to an additional fee. 

Leather options, even select leathers, will always increase the overall cost. Ultimately, the choice of choosing fabric or leather is up to you.

In terms of cost, Lisa notes that the Coronado furniture products fall within the mid-price range at La-Z-Boy.

While the cost of the Coronado furniture is considered standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered more expensive in the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products.

Warranty

The Coronado furniture family is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covered covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given time.

Is the Coronado Furniture Family Right For You?

Now that you know everything you need to know about the Coronado furniture family, the question might still remain if this is the right furniture family for you. To help clarify this decision, let’s consider your budget, the functionality, and the style of the Coronado.

To begin, the aforementioned price of the Coronado is mid-priced, according to Lisa, making it one of our more Affordable Sofas at La-Z-Boy.

That said, purchasing La-Z-Boy furniture is always an investment, which is why our furniture is more expensive than some other furniture stores. If you’re looking for long-lasting furniture while still trying to stay on budget, this furniture item might be the right choice for you.

In terms of functionality, Lisa claims that the sofa can seat all types of people. “Even though the seats are deep, the backs of the Coronado are not that tall, meaning that if you’re someone who has lots of guests over, they won’t look awkward sitting in it,” she says.

She also says that the chair & a half is perfect for those who have smaller children or animals to sit with. “Grandparents would love the Coronado Chair & a Half, so they can sit with their younger grandchildren in it, or it can go well in a playroom so two kids can sit comfortably on it.”

If you do not have small children or animals, you might not find much benefit from the spacious chair & a half. Instead, you might prefer a recliner chair for more individualized comfort.

In addition to size, keep in mind that the Coronado furniture is stationary and lacks the ability to recline. Even though you can kick your feet up by using the ottoman, it might not have the same effect as a traditional recliner.

Lastly, when it comes to style, the Coronado furniture is transitional. With this, it can complement a variety of homes with different styles, especially with the right use of fabric or leather. 

In fact, Lisa says that fabric and leather options look completely different from one another. “You wouldn’t be able to tell they’re the same furniture piece unless you’re told!”

She also says that she mostly sees younger families going for this kind of furniture family because of its transitional look. Young or old, If you like a transitional style to your furniture, the Coronado is right for you.
