At La-Z-Boy, we offer a Jay Recliner, a Jay Reclining Loveseat, and a Jay Reclining Sofa.

Jay Recliner

Depending on your preferences, the Jay is offered as a Rocking Recliner or a Wall Recliner. 

When you’re not reclining, the Jay Rocking Recliner acts as a relaxing rocker with a smooth, graceful motion. 

The Jay Wall Recliner can be placed mere inches from the wall.

Jay Reclining Loveseat

The Jay Loveseat is a great choice for couples who want to snuggle up to one another even while reclining. 

Similar to the recliner, the Jay Loveseat is offered in both manual and power options. Further, the Jay Loveseat is offered with a console, and in power, you can upgrade to include an adjustable headrest.

Jay Reclining Sofa

The Jay Reclining Sofa serves comfort for all! With three spacious cushions, the Jay Sofa is available in manual and power. Like the Jay Recliner and loveseat, in power, the Jay Reclining Sofa can be upgraded to feature an adjustable headrest.

As previously mentioned, the Jay furniture family offers reclining comfort and casual style, a part of the Family Favourites furniture style at La-Z-Boy. 

The Jay features slightly flared arms, a distinctive horizontal seam across the back, and detailed flange trim. 

Magaly says the Jay furniture has crisp lines giving it a clean and linear silhouette. 

The Jay furniture offers exceptional comfort with high-grade foam cushions that are constructed to maintain their comfort and appearance over time. Further, the Jay is filled with double-picked blown fiberfill for improved cushion and shape retention. 

More specifically, Magaly draws attention to Jay’s padded arm offering a comfortable place to lay your head. She says, “it is just as good as a pillow!”

The Jay products also have the ability to recline and raise your feet independently, providing a continuous zone of comfort. In fact, the Jay Loveseat and Sofa have a double locking footrest for added safety and support. The Jay Recliner features both a 3-position locking legrest.

The Jay Recliner reclines back with the pull of a handle. The manual Jay Loveseat and Sofa have an easy-to-reach hidden trigger activator to release the footrest. The reclining feature of the Loveseat and Sofa is activated by pushing back into your desired reclining position. 

Finally, the Jay can take on a variety of looks as it is customizable in a range of premium-grade fabrics and leathers that are tested to resist wear and fading. According to Magaly, “the Jay looks exceptionally beautiful in leather”. 

Sizes & Dimensions

When it comes to size, Magaly says the Jay furniture is slightly larger than most frames offered at La-Z-Boy. With this, it is crucial to measure your room in order to ensure that you have enough space for it to fit comfortably.  

Moreover, it is important to not only consider how the Jay products will fit into your space but also how they will support your unique body type. Generally speaking, the Jay furniture is best suited for individuals of an average to tall height, between 5’10” and 6’2”.

Magaly notes that the Jay has a significantly tall back. The height of the back offers exceptional back and neck support for average to taller individuals.

Handle Options

To add more style to your La-Z-Boy manual recliner, you have the option to customize the length and material of the convenient reclining handle.

At an extra cost, you can opt to elongate the handle if you find it too short for your comfort. Additionally, you can choose from a variety of materials for the handle, including wooden, brushed nickel, or matte black. The chrome handle can also be elongated, matching the wooden one in size.

What’s more, for all left-handed users, you can change your handle from the standard right side to the left. This also comes at an additional cost.

Swivel Base Options

If you're interested, the Jay rocking recliner is available with a swivel base for an extra cost. La-Z-Boy's swivel bases provide a 360-degree rotation, allowing you to easily turn and face any direction.

You can also upgrade your swivel base into a power swivel recliner, which can recline at the touch of a button. The power swivel base, however, only rotates 165 degrees to prevent the power cord from getting tangled within the furniture frame.

Console Option (Loveseat)

As previously mentioned, the Jay Reclining Loveseat is offered with an optional middle console. Between the seats, a handy center console provides extra armrest space, hidden storage, and two cup holders.

It is important to note that the console adds to the overall size, specifically the length, of the Jay Loveseat.

Power Upgrade with Adjustable Headrest

You can upgrade the Jay family to power. 

Unlike manual furniture that uses a handle or latch, power recliners come with a control panel or a wireless remote for easy reclining at the touch of a button. You can also adjust the headrest support with this convenient feature.

The adjustable headrest allows you to move the head of the recliner from 0-55 degrees, giving you more range of motion with your reclining positions.

What’s more, the recliners have USB ports next to the control panels to charge your electronic devices and two memory settings that allow you to save any of your favourite relaxing positions. This way, you can easily recline back to the position you favour quickly and accurately. 

All power upgrades can be cordless, thanks to our rechargeable battery pack. With this, you can place your power recliners anywhere without worrying about plugging them into an electrical outlet.

Adjustable Lumbar Support

The Jay family can also be upgraded to include adjustable lumbar support for an additional cost when choosing the power option.

Like the headrest feature, you can control the lower lumbar area of your recliner with the wireless remote. In this case, the lumbar support can expand 3 inches out or deflate to perfectly match the unique curvature of your lumbar spine.

Cost

Most products in the Jay furniture family fall within the mid-price range at La-Z-Boy.

It is important to note that while the recliner and loveseat fall within the mid-price range at La-Z-Boy, the Jay Sofa falls within the low price range (entry-level) at La-Z-Boy. In fact, it is one of the least expensive reclining sofa options available.

While the cost of the Jay family is considered quite standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered more expensive in the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products.

The Jay is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.
