About Canadel's East Side Dining Collection
Style & Unique Features
All Canadel Dining Furniture is handcrafted in North America. The East Side collection, like all other collections, is custom-made based on each customer's customization choices, made easier by Canadel’s UDesign tool.
The basic design of dining furniture from the East Side collection balances the warmth of North American birch and eco-friendly hevea wood with the coolness of metallic materials.
Furthermore, on the subject of wood and metal materials, East Side blends the worlds of wood and metal so they can come together to create high-quality and exquisite dining room furniture.
Some might compare the East Side collection to Canadel’s Loft collection since they both have rustic themes. However, East Side takes on a more industrial approach to the rustic style, whereas Loft is more modern rustic. Michelle emphasizes that these are two very distinct designs.
The industrial touch to East Side allows the collection to stay more on-trend than its predecessor. The organic wood and sleek metal are inspired by a global organic feel with a rustic finish.
Dining Furniture Selection
There are many different furniture pieces featured in Canadel’s East Side collection. Within the collection, East Side has 9 different styles of seats and tables, as well as 4 benches, 5 stools, 3 storage units, and 1 small island.
You will notice that Canadel’s Top Picks for the East Side collection showcases wooden and metallic materials for each of their pieces.
Further, these pieces feature darker woodland tones compared to other Canadel collections. They also showcase a combination of upholstered or wooden chairs as well as bulky or slim-shaped table legs. Dining tables also come in either wood or glass tops.
Options & Customizations
It is important to note that all available options and customizations to the East Side dining collection can be explored on Canadel’s UDesign tool, which is easily accessible on the Canadel website.
Dining Tables
As mentioned before, tabletops can come in wood or glass options, allowing the user to choose between 11 wood finish colours or 13 glass colours (including frosted glass). The wood finish options are also included in any other furniture item on East Side.
Unlike other collections, East Side’s tables only come in a rectangular shape but can come in either slim or bulky legs.
Dining Seats
Chairs also come in 9 different designs, each ranging from wooden finish or upholstered, and arms or armless options. Stools also come in either upholstered or wood finish options.
As for benches, Canadel includes an array of wood, fabric and faux-leather options to choose from.
Dining Buffets
Finally, of the 4 different buffets, an option to include a bookcase is shown, giving more storage space. According to Michelle, the bookcase is still technically considered a buffet, which is why it is under the buffet section.
Live Edge
Something that sets the East Side collection apart from the rest, according to Michelle, is the live edge option that is available for East Side’s dining tables.
The live edge option makes the furniture look as if it were a tree, giving off a more ornate edge instead of a straight edge, like most other dining room furniture. The live edge option is featured more prominently on pedestal bases.
It is also important to note that the tables included in the East Side collection only have one height option, meaning bar height options are not available in this collection.
Jack-Knife Extension
East Side is one of the only collections to include a Jack-Knife Extension that extends from one end of the table. This means that the extension comes from either the left or the right side of the table, rather than having a seam in the middle. This customization option offers the element of surprise of it being able to extend.
The Jack-Knife extension is only available on East Side dining tables with a leg base.
Wood Finish, Glass & Upholstery Options
There are many different colours and finish options that the East Side dining collection offers.
East Side has 11 wood finish colours available, each displaying darker tones than other collections. If you opt for a dining table with a glass top, the glass options include 7 types of clear glass.
Moreover, upholstered dining seating options, such as chairs, benches, or stools, are offered in a huge array of fabrics to choose from. A unique fact about East Side’s customizations is that it does not feature any leather options, but rather faux leather for chairs, benches, and stools.
Cost
According to Michelle, East Side is one of the less expensive collections that Canadel has to offer, along with Gourmet.
There is no specific price assigned to any Canadel product until you customize and personalize your chosen furniture. Once you have selected your customization options, a design consultant at the Canadel store will be able to tell you the exact cost of your furniture.
The final cost depends on the materials used within each piece of furniture. All Canadel prices are subject to change depending on the options and customizations you choose.
Warranty
The East Side Collection is covered by Canadel’s 1-year warranty, which covers the repair or replacement of chair frames, tabletops, fabric tearings, or any unforeseen circumstances that would be covered under Canadel’s warranty.
Given that each piece of furniture is quality-crafted and built to last a long time, Canadel also offers an extended 5-year warranty plan, at an additional cost.
This not only further protects your purchase but is also transferable when you purchase new Canadel Furniture if you are looking to replace old additions.
