Summit Series Recliner Selection

The Summit Series comprises two specially crafted recliners: the Randell and the Redwood. 

These models were created with larger users in mind, going beyond standard dimensions and durability to offer something more substantial. Unlike traditional recliners, these models come with “tall enhancements,” a set of structural upgrades that include a wider-scaled frame, additional seat and back springs, a heavy-duty reclining mechanism, and a taller base.

They also feature a 2-inch longer handle, making it easier to operate for those with longer arms or limited mobility. These structural changes aren’t just cosmetic—they are functionally designed to increase support, extend durability, and accommodate greater weight and height with ease.

While the Astor Recliner also features some tall elements, such as a tall base and elongated back, it lacks the full suite of enhancements found in Summit models. For this reason, it is not officially part of the Summit Series, although it remains a solid option for those who prefer a slimmer silhouette.

Summit Series Sizes & Dimensions

When considering oversized furniture, space matters. The Randell and Redwood are noticeably larger than standard recliners and are best suited for larger rooms or open-concept spaces. Their robust scale makes them ideal for taller individuals, typically those who are 6'3" or above, but many customers outside this range still enjoy their roomy comfort.

Mitch Beaulieu, a design consultant at La-Z-Boy Kanata, shared an experience that speaks to the versatility of the Redwood recliner: "I once sold a Redwood recliner to an older lady who was maybe 4 feet tall. She simply wanted something large and cozy, allowing her to cuddle up with her dog."

The Summit Series is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushions, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.
