The first area rug cleaning service we have on our list is Chem-Dry, an award-winning franchise business that is located in many different parts of the province.
Chem Dry’s mission is to help homeowners live healthy lives, which helps if you have a clean carpet or rug.
According to their website, their hot carbonating cleaning extraction dives deep into the fibres of your area rugs and takes down 98% of common household allergens and 89% of airborne bacteria, which is a lot!
Their area and oriental rug cleaning process are said to be an “effective yet gentle washing for textiles.” Chem-Dry is aware of how much of a financial investment area rugs can be, which is why they provide careful treatment to all rugs, no matter their quality.

2. Love Your Rug
The next cleaning service is called Love Your Rug, which is located on St. Laurent. Started in 1984 by Tony Kantstavelos, Love Your Rug specializes in not only area rug and carpet cleaning but also area rug repairs.

Also, if you’re from out of town, there is no need to worry about not being eligible for their services. Love Your Rug not only schedules repairs in Ottawa but also in Greely, Goulbourn, Greenbelt, and even Gatineau.

Next on our list is Quality Carpet Cleaners, which is a cleaning service that generally specializes in carpet cleaning.
But you might be wondering, carpets aren’t the same as area rugs; why would we suggest a carpet cleaning service in an area rug cleaning service article? Hold your horses, there actually are area rug cleaning services included within this company.
Although it is not the primary cleaning service offered, Quality Carpet Cleaners does offer area rug cleaning services. According to their website, whether you have a synthetic or natural fibre area rug, they can provide similar cleaning services as they would for a carpet.
Synthetic area rugs are cleaned similarly to their carpet cleaning services. This five-step process includes pre-vacuuming, pre-spraying, agitation cleaning, extraction, and grooming.
Natural fibre area rug cleaning is a different story. These rugs will be washed and dried with “special care” through their pick-up and delivery services. Area rug cleaning services normally take up to 7-10 days.
Other services provided by Quality Carpet Cleaners include upholstery dry cleaning.

They claim to pay attention to detail, allowing them to clean anything residential or commercial, with specializations all around the house. Their carpet and rug cleaning services include wall-to-wall carpets, stair rugs, and regular area rugs.
Their three-step cleaning process includes the pretreatment of any significant staining or trouble areas, a pre-spray with cleaning supplies tailored to each type of rug (shampooing and scrubbing is required in rare conditions if the area rug is in bad condition), and putting it in an extraction machine for drying and the final cleaning stages.
