Unique Features

As previously mentioned, the Alexandria comes as a loveseat and a sofa, which both share many unique features.

Alexandria isn’t afraid to make a statement–its tight back boasts button tufting in a diamond pattern that’s both distinctive and unique. 

An updated take on the classic Chesterfield silhouette, Alexandria features extra cushioning on its sloped rolled arms and is finished with slim, tapered wood legs. There is also a third middle leg featured on the Alexandria Sofa, adding to its traditional appearance.

Premier Construction also ensures the quality and comfort of this timeless piece for years to come. 

Mary Lee calls this style of furniture “tuxedo style furniture,” meaning the back and the arms of the frame are the same lengths. She also compliments the button tufting on the back seats, giving it a “traditional and opulent look.”

Sizes & Dimensions

Mary Lee says the loveseat and sofa are not as large as other furniture families showcased at La-Z-Boy. “Because Alexandria is stationary, it doesn’t need bulky coverings to hide any reclining mechanisms,” she says.

Although it is not the largest furniture family at La-Z-Boy, it is not the smallest. The Alexandria should be considered average-sized. This means that the Alexandria may not always fit in a small space.

Because the Alexandria has a small to average-sized scale, these traditional furniture items can easily fit anyone between the heights of 5’4” - 5’9”. Mary Lee says, “you can fit taller people who are over 6 feet, but it is more recommended for average size seating.”

Options & Upgrades

When looking at Alexandria’s options and upgrades, there are plenty to choose from. 

It is important to remember that all options and upgrades come at an additional cost, meaning the price of your Alexandria furniture is subject to increase. 

Power Options (Not Available)

The Alexandria is a more traditional styled furniture piece at La-Z-Boy, which makes it one of the few furniture families that do not offer a power upgrade. This is because the Alexandria furniture is stationary, meaning there is no need for a power option.

Fabric Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless. 

It is important to note that the Alexandria only comes in fabric, not leather. If you are looking for something closer to leather, Alexandria does come in recycled leather.

Mary Lee reveals that the Alexandria is offered in 4 different select fabric options. Select fabrics are chosen to compliment Alexandria’s specific furniture frame. In turn, these fabric options do not increase the base price of your Alexandria.

At an additional cost, firmer seat options are available. With this, you can choose to upgrade both the seat and back cushions.

Pillow Options

Given that the Alexandria is easily complemented by pillows, there are many options to choose from. Mary Lee says customers can choose from regular pillow styles to contrasting welt trim, cording accents, and feather pillows.

Finish Options

Finally, Alexandria’s wood leg finish can be customized as well. Any Alexandria Loveseat or Sofa comes in one of four finish options:

1. Mahogany (Base Price)
2. Coffee (Additional Cost)
3. Graphite (Additional Cost)
4. Driftwood (Additional Cost)

Cost

In terms of cost, Mary Lee notes that the Alexandria furniture products fall within the low-mid price range at La-Z-Boy. This is because of the larger cushions made within the design.

While the cost of the Alexandria furniture is considered mostly standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered more expensive in the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products.

Warranty

The Alexandria Loveseat & Sofa is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covered covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given time.

Is the Alexandria Sofa & Loveseat Right For You?

Firstly, regarding your personal budget, Alexandria is a more affordable product at La-Z-Boy. However, as mentioned before, La-Z-Boy furniture is more expansive than other furniture stores on the market.

La-Z-Boy is an investment, so if you’re looking for long-lasting furniture, purchasing the Alexandria might be worth your while. In contrast, if you are looking for an affordable piece of furniture for temporary use, you might consider shopping elsewhere.

In terms of functionality, the Alexandria is versatile for most living areas, given its average-sized frame. You can even place them in open concept rooms as well. 

Finally, in terms of style, Mary Lee also says that the Alexandria is perfect for older couples who are “looking to spice things up in their living room.” As mentioned before, Alexandria is an eye-catching piece because of its overall appearance. 

Further, if you’re creating an elegant Parisian style apartment, this furniture is the right choice for you. The button-tufted back seats and the slim wood legs make it an elegant and opulent look. However, this furniture is not meant to be played around with. 

As other furniture products at La-Z-Boy are meant for making cushion forts or jumping on plush sofa cushions, the Alexandria is a delicate piece and should be treated as such. 

“The best way to use this formal piece of furniture is by sitting upright and spend long hours watching TV, read, or conversate about philosophical ideas,” says Mary Lee. If you have small children with lots of energy, the Alexandria might not be right for you.
