Colby Duo®Reclining Chair

The Colby Duo® Reclining Chair delivers just the right amount of individualized comfort. Elaina says the deep seats are “extremely comfortable on the Colby Chair.”

Colby Duo® Reclining Loveseat

Instead of having a comfortable one seat like the Colby Chair, the Colby Duo® Reclining Loveseat allows you to share an extra seat. With this, you can either sit next to that special someone, a friend, or a family member.

Unique Features

The Colby Duo® furniture family comes with many different unique features.

As mentioned, the Colby is part of our award-winning Duo® furniture series. The Duo® collection is a series of furniture offered at La-Z-Boy that appears stationary but features the ability to recline.

This is not to be confused with High-Leg Recliners, which are not part of the Duo® Collection.

Colby features graceful rolled arms, decorative wood legs, padded outer arms, and a padded outer back. Colby’s versatile frame can be dressed up for a formal setting or dressed more casually for a family room.

All of Colby’s furniture products, excluding some of the modular seating options from the Sectional, are built with power recliners, meaning you can easily recline with just the push of a button. 

The Colby Chair has a 2-button side-mounted control panel that can recline your seat, whereas the loveseat and the sofa have two control panels on each side. 

A built-in controller on the outside arm lets you recline and raise the leg rest easily, while a built-in USB port charges your devices. 

Size & Dimensions

Elaina also mentions that Colby’s cushions are deep seating cushions, meaning you can sink into the seat without worrying about feeling uncomfortable for a long or short sit.

Given that the seats are deeper, the Colby seats those with a taller scale most comfortably,  preferably those between the heights of 5’10” - 6’2”.

Although it seats those with a taller scale more comfortably, Elaina says she has seen those with a shorter scale seat just as comfortably as well. 

While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

The Colby Duo® furniture family has many different options and customizations to choose from.

Please note that by choosing some of these options & upgrades, the price of your furniture is subject to increase.

Fabric & Leather Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

Elaina reveals that the Colby comes in 3 different select fabric options. Select fabrics are chosen to compliment Colby’s specific furniture frame. In turn, these fabric options do not increase the base price of your Colby. 

You will be subjected to an additional fee if you choose to purchase any fabric that is not included as a select cover.

Elaina also says that you can also choose leather covers for your Colby. However, there are no select leathers to choose from for this furniture frame. “You can only choose specialty leathers from our leather selection,” she says.

Sectional Furniture Options & Configurations

Colby’s sectional consists of 7 module pieces that can be used to design a unique configuration that suits your comfort preferences and space. 

With these available module pieces, your Colby sectional can be made as big or as small as you wish.

End piece includes a left or right-ended, chaise with storage or loveseat. You can also place a corner section to create the famous L-shape for which sectionals are known. Armless stationary chairs are also available to add to your sectional. 

There are 4 different basic sectional configurations below to show what your sectional can look like. You can also choose to go with your own unique design if you don’t prefer any of these choices.

Pillow Options

Colby comes with pillows, which means you can customize those as well. You can accessorize your pillows by adding an accent colour to them, as well as contrasting welt, cording or fringe.

If you want to get specific, you can also request feather padding for your pillows instead of the usual foam padding.

Contrasting Welt Trim

Customers have the option to choose a contrasting welt trim to accentuate the design of the furniture. Furthermore, patterned welt trim options are available, which can enhance the aesthetics of the furniture frame.

Wood Leg Finish Options

Finally, Colby’s wood leg finish can also be customized. Any Colby furniture item comes in one of three finish options:

• Mahogany (Base Price)
• Coffee (Additional Cost)
• Graphite (Additional Cost)

Cost

In terms of cost, Elaina notes that the Colby furniture products fall within the mid-high price range at La-Z-Boy. She does, however, note that because the furniture frame only comes in power, the cost might be a little bit higher than what people are expecting

While the cost of the Colby furniture is considered mostly standard at La-Z-Boy, it is also important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered more expensive in the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products. 

Ultimately, the cost of the Colby Sectional is dependent on how many furniture pieces are arranged together. Keep in mind that the price for the Colby sectional can go well over $10,000 depending on how many pieces and additional options & upgrades are in your sectional configuration.

Warranty

The Colby is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Colby Furniture Family Right For You?

Firstly, speaking of cost, we have already mentioned that the price of the Colby is a little bit more expensive than regular furniture frames at La-Z-Boy because it only comes in power.

Ultimately, purchasing furniture at La-Z-Boy will always be an investment if you’re looking for long-lasting furniture. If you’re looking for furniture like this, the Colby might be the right furniture for you if you like the style.

In contrast, if you are looking for more basic and temporary furniture pieces on a budget, the Colby might not be right for you.

In terms of functionality, the Colby is ideal for those looking for reclining furniture, as previously mentioned. If you are looking for stationary furniture items, you might prefer the Paxton Furniture Family.
