However, every now and then, there are people who ask for something more. Something less stationary. While La-Z-Boy is known for selling the invention of the recliner over 90 years ago, we also have many other tricks up our sleeve.
Take swivel chairs, for example. Although not a La-Z-Boy staple, swivel chairs are still a frequent grab amongst customers.
One of our chairs, the Midtown, doubles as both a swivel chair and a swivel gliding chair, but what does that mean exactly?

Sizes & Dimensions
When considering the size of the Midtown Chair, you want to ensure that it will comfortably fit in your space. Always remember to measure your room before purchasing any new furniture item.
Ghada says that the Midtown is a good example of a smaller furniture item that can be comfortably placed in smaller spaces.
Given that the Midtown Chair is so small, however, it comfortably fits anyone that has a petite scale of around 5’3” and under. However, Ghada does mention that she has seen satisfied customers taller than 5’3” purchase a Midtown Chair.
While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

Welt Trim
Customers have the option to choose a contrasting welt trim to accentuate the design of the furniture. Furthermore, patterned welt trim options are available, which can enhance the aesthetics of the furniture frame.
Wood Base Finish Options
Most furniture products have the option to customize wood leg finishes for stationary furniture. Just like that option, Midtown’s wood base finish can also be customized. Any Midtown furniture item comes in one of two finish options:
- Mahogany (Base Price)
- Coffee (Additional Cost)
Cost

While the cost of the Midtown is quite standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered expensive in the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products. With this, the investment tends to be worthwhile if you are looking for long-lasting furniture.
Currently, Midtown Swivel Gliding Chair has a starting price of $1,649. This does not include any additional options and upgrades.

Warranty
The Midtown is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Midtown Chair Right For You?
Now that you know everything about the Midtown Chair, all that remains is determining if this swivel chair is the right furniture for you. To figure this out, we must take a look at budget, functionality, and style.
First of all, the starting price for the Midtown is considered mid-price at La-Z-Boy, according to Ghada. She also mentions that it is more expensive than stationary furniture but less expensive than recliners.
This makes it a perfect in-between option for someone looking for something with motion but not all the bells and whistles.
In terms of functionality, the Midtown is perfect for smaller individuals that are short. Because of this, taller individuals may not feel as comfortable when sitting down on this furniture item.
