Olson Chair and a Half

First, the Olson is available as a stationary chair and a half, which is larger than a regular stationary chair at La-Z-Boy and can seat more than one person or a furry friend.

Olson Sofa

The Olson is also available as a stationary sofa and can seat up to three people for any family-friendly relaxation. It also includes two 18’ accent pillows that you can customize.

The Olson Sofa is also available in an apartment-sized option, for those looking for something larger than a loveseat but still need to furnish a smaller space.

Unique Features

Referring to all furniture frames in the Olson furniture family, there are many unique features included.

Known as a plush and inviting classic, this broad-sized furniture family features flared rolled arms, decorative wood legs, and welt trim on the arm posts.

The Olson also features semi-attached backs with airy blown fibre fill, and supportive loose seat cushions with crisp box-border tailoring for a clean and casual look.

Although Olson is known as a traditionally styled furniture family, it has some similarities to an existing furniture frame called the Collins. 

While this furniture frame does not come in a chair and a half, it still has many features close to this newer furniture family, including the rolled arms, decorative legs and seat style. The main difference is the seat depth, which is much deeper than the Collins.

Fabric Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

The Olson comes in 5 different select fabric colours. These fabric options do not increase the base price of your Olson.

If you choose to purchase any fabrics outside of the select covers, please note that an additional fee will apply.

Pillow Options

The Olson can come with pillows, which means you can customize those as well. You can accessorize your pillows by adding an accent colour to them, as well as contrasting welt, cording or fringe. Luckily for you, the Olson furniture family also includes 3 additional select accent pillow options, meaning those will not affect your price.

If you want to get specific, you can also request feather padding for your pillows instead of the usual foam padding.

Sleep Sofa Upgrade

The Olson chair and a half and both sofas come in sleeper variations. With this option, you can easily turn your living room into a sleepable guest room.

Along with the unique features of the original frames, the Olson twin, full, and queen sleepers offer overnight guests a supreme comfort quilted innerspring mattress that measures 5.5” thick, no matter the size of the frame.

The sleeper mattresses can be upgraded to include either a Slumber Air mattress, which is an inflatable air mattress for extra adjustability, or a firmer mattress that provides a more solid sleeping surface, similar to the firm cushion upgrade.

Leg Finish Options

Finally, Olson’s wood leg finish can also be customized. Any Olson furniture item comes in one of four finish options:

The Olson is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushions, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Olson Furniture Family Right For You?

First, in terms of your budget, La-Z-Boy, as mentioned before, tends to be more expensive than some other furniture stores. 

It is up to you to decide if you want to invest in good quality furniture that will last you a long time or purchase other furniture products that are cheaper but not the best quality.

If you’re willing to spend more initially and save in the long run, shopping at La-Z-Boy is the right decision for you.

In terms of functionality, the Olson can work well in many different-sized rooms. The apartment-size sofa is perfect for smaller spaces, while the regular sofa and chair and a half combo work well in a bigger living room.

However, people with a shorter than average height may not find this furniture as comfortable as those with an average height. 

Lastly, the style of this furniture family is very classic. However, if you’re looking for something more slim fitting, we recommend checking the Collins Sofa. While this furniture frame may not have a sleeper sofa upgrade, it does have one in its sectional frame.
