Interestingly, there are very few furniture stores that manufacture their own recliners and have to rely on other manufacturers to supply them with products.
Whether that makes a good recliner or not is up to you, but for us at La-Z-Boy, all of our furniture products are manufactured by yours truly! But what about other stores that sell recliner chairs? Do they also manufacture their own furniture?
But furniture brands, like Costco, may rely on other suppliers for an extra hand. Some of these other manufacturers include Canadian furniture brands like David Divani Designs, Sealy, Synergy, and Palliser.
Because Costco sells other manufactured recliner brands, their furniture can range from being made locally to overseas.

Costco Warranty Coverage
Because Costco carries different brands of power recliner chairs, the warranty will range from chair to chair. However, every recliner chair sold at Costco has a 1-year warranty as well as a shipping and return policy in place in case things go badly.
This return and shipping policy highlights that every product Costco sells will be fully refunded, except electronics, custom installation services, and concierge services. As for larger items, it seems as though there is no exception to this rule.

La-Z-Boy Warranty Coverage
La-Z-Boy is known for the quality and durability of its furniture, which is reflected in its warranty offerings. All La-Z-Boy furniture comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty covering the frame, springs, and mechanical parts for life, with additional coverage for other components lasting 1-3 years. An Extended Protection Plan is available for up to five years of accidental damage at an additional cost.
Delivery Services
Both retailers offer delivery services, but there are notable differences in their approaches and costs.
Costco Delivery Services
As mentioned before, Costco has a shipping and return policy for all of its recliners. But if you’re shopping online, you may not be able to get all recliner chairs delivered to your specific location. You must verify your postal code first before going through with a purchase.
Once that’s done and over with, a standard delivery should take about 7 - 10 business days for any Costco in Ottawa. Standard delivery also includes a door delivery without a signature. This service does not include haul away, setup or assembly of items, or removal of packaging materials.
There are exceptions to the rule, however. In the case of a larger product, like a recliner, delivery can be brought anywhere desired in your home for easy access. Some conditions, unfortunately, may require a fee.
La-Z-Boy Delivery Services
La-Z-Boy offers a comprehensive white glove delivery service that includes setup, assembly, and disposal of old furniture at an additional cost. Local delivery within Ottawa, Gatineau & Kingston costs $129.99, with out-of-town delivery at $169.99.
For an additional fee of $25 per furniture piece, we can assist with either moving out old furniture from different rooms or bringing it to the curb.
Additionally, we offer the option to dispose of any old furniture in a local landfill at an extra charge of $50 / per furniture seat.
