La-Z-Boy is an American company established in Michigan, United States, over 90 years ago.
Although the company has American roots, the Ottawa and Kingston locations have been locally owned and operated by the Maxwell family since 2011.
La-Z-Boy prides itself on its furniture quality, style, and comfortability, which is why one of its popular phrases is "style meets comfort."
La-Z-Boy’s primary specialty is living room furniture, but it also offers furniture for other rooms in the home, including the dining room and bedroom. Additionally, La-Z-Boy also provides a wide variety of home accessories and decor.

Contrary to their name, Stylus Sofas doesn’t just sell sofas, but living room furniture in general. On their website, Stylus separates their furniture from made-to-order and In-Stock selections.
Made-to-order and In-Stock are separated to help show what can be customized and what is only available as is. The difference between the two is that made-to-order can be customized.
Out of their living room selection, Stylus sells sofas, sectionals, sofa beds, accent chairs and ottomans. They also have dining room chair selections as well as upholstered beds.
Stylus' Architect Collection features plusher cushions with foam wrapped in feathers for a softer feel.
La-Z-Boy Living Room Furniture Selection
La-Z-Boy offers comfortable, quality, and stylish home furniture and decor.
More specifically, La-Z-Boy offers a range of recliner chairs, accent chairs, sofas, sectionals, and loveseats.
La-Z-Boy furniture offers stationary, manual reclining, and power reclining.
Aside from upholstered living room furniture, La-Z-Boy’s furnishings include a range of occasional tables from their incorporated sub-divisions Hammary, American Drew, and Kincaid. This selection includes coffee tables, side tables, and entertainment units.

As you know, Stylus separates its furniture between two different types, which are made-to-order and In-Stock furniture.
Made-to-order furniture is customizable whereas In-Stock is not. The reason behind this is due to the fact that these furniture pieces are made in different locations.
Stylus’ made-to-order furniture is entirely made in North America, which is why they are able to be customized without any problems. Their In-Stock furniture, however, is made solely overseas in manufacturing locations in China.

Where is La-Z-Boy Furniture Made?
First, it is important to highlight that La-Z-Boy manufactures all furniture sold at La-Z-Boy.
La-Z-Boy is a global manufacturer operating in North America, Asia, and Europe. La-Z-Boy’s products are primarily made in North America for North American markets, with their global headquarters in Monroe, Michigan.
Our recliners, chairs, sofas, and sectionals sold in Ottawa and Kingston are primarily manufactured in Dayton, Tennessee.

Customization Options
Not every furniture retailer offers customized furniture, but it has become a popular demand for homeowners.
There is a lot to discuss regarding customization options between Stylus Sofas and La-Z-Boy.
Stylus Sofas Customization Options
While Stylus Sofas may not have as many customization options as La-Z-Boy, they still have quite a few adjustments they can make.
For starters, Stylus does not sell any reclining furniture, but has many stationary furniture pieces available. Customizations for their furniture include changing the fabric upholstery, adding accent colours to pillows, changing the decorative wood finish on the legs of certain frames, and adding nailhead and contrasting welt trims, too.
La-Z-Boy Customization Options
In contrast, upholstery furniture at La-Z-Boy is highly customizable.
With over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, there are many possibilities to make your furniture unique to fit your own personal style.
Aside from upholstery customization, La-Z-Boy living room furniture is also customizable in cushion density, leg style, wood finish, nailhead trim, and welt trim, depending on the chosen frame.
Additionally, La-Z-Boy's reclining furniture offers various upgrades, including power options. With power, select models are available with additional features, such as heat & massage, power lift options for recliners, and adjustable headrest & lumbar.
It is important to remember that all upgrades at La-Z Boy come at an additional cost.

Interior Design Services
Whether your living room furniture is customizable or not, interior design services can help ensure that the style of living room furniture fits seamlessly into the design of your home.
Stylus Sofas Interior Design Services
Stylus, unfortunately, does not offer any official interior design services. These services are dependent on the furniture company that carries the product.
For example, Upper Room Ottawa does have interior design services readily available for a fee of $500. Valley Squire, on the other hand, does not have official interior design services.
La-Z-Boy Interior Design Services
La-Z-Boy also offers complimentary interior design services with any purchase. La-Z Boy's interior designers will work with you one-on-one to provide personalized furniture and design recommendations.
In turn, they will create a complete room design based on your personal style and preferences. Moreover, you will receive a comprehensive room mood board and a 3D model of your room design before finalizing your order.
You can either set up an appointment or book a virtual call to work with an interior designer.

Cost

Warranty
Whether you shop at Stylus Sofas or La-Z-Boy, there is no doubt that living room furniture is an investment.
Both furniture retailers offer a warranty with the sale of their products to help protect the long-term value of your investment.
Stylus Sofas Warranty
While certain furniture stores have pre-determined warranty plans, Stylus has specific warranty plans for their products for all furniture stores.
For their made-to-order furniture selection, Stylus has a lifetime warranty (25 years) for all products. All other components will be free from defects in workmanship and materials under normal use and service for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
Fabrics are also covered under this warranty but it does not protect against fabric pilling, wear and tear, slippage, shrinkage or fading. Exposed wood parts will carry a 1-year limited warranty against material defects.
As for In-Stock furniture, Stylus also has a lifetime warranty for their overseas products.
La-Z-Boy Warranty
The quality of La-Z-Boy’s furniture is known to last as a long-term investment.
La-Z-Boy products come with a manufacturing warranty that covers damage caused by manufacturing errors or workmanship.
The mechanical and frame parts are covered for a lifetime, while others are covered for 1-3 years. This warranty is applicable across all upholstery categories consistently.

At an additional cost, La-Z Boy also offers an Extended Protection Plan that covers up to five years of accidental damage. Depending on the product, the cost of this warranty is relative.

Stylus Sofas Delivery
Since Stylus’s furniture selections are located in multiple showrooms across Canada, they do not have official delivery services for customers. Delivery services are dependent on the furniture store that carries Stylus Sofa products.
At Upper Room, they provide local delivery as well as removing furniture waste. As for Valley Squire, they also offer local delivery and a white glove furniture assembly option.

La-Z-Boy Delivery
Similarly, La-Z-Boy offers a white glove delivery service that includes set up, assembly, rearranging furniture, and disposal of old furniture at an additional cost.
At La-Z-Boy, local Ottawa & Kingston delivery costs $129.99, and out-of-town delivery costs $169.99.
With La-Z-Boy delivery services, an existing piece of furniture can also be moved elsewhere in your home at no additional cost. Further, if you have taken advantage of the design services, the delivery men will set up your furniture based on your predetermined floor plan.
Additionally, we offer the option to dispose of any old furniture in a local landfill at an extra charge of $50 / per furniture seat.
